Moving to the Czech Republic and want the whole thing handled properly, from your front door in Europe to your new address in Prague, Brno or beyond? Flyto Relocation runs regular door-to-door removals into Czechia for private households, expats and businesses. We are a European international mover with our own logistics hubs across Northern, Central and Southern Europe, so your Czech move is planned, priced and managed by one accountable team rather than handed off between strangers. We hold a 4.9 rating from more than 500 reviews, every consignment is insured, and our advisors work in English throughout.

How Flyto works: our hubs, our network

Flyto is built around owned hubs in Northern, Central and Southern Europe and regular scheduled road runs between them. When you move to the Czech Republic from a country we serve directly, your goods travel on our own door-to-door road service, consolidated efficiently and tracked by the same coordinator from collection to delivery.

We are honest about how the network is structured, and that honesty is why customers trust us. We do not operate a branch office in the Czech Republic, and we will never pretend to. For the destination leg and for lanes outside our direct road network, including overseas origins, we work with a small circle of vetted, contracted partners held to our standards for handling, insurance and communication. Hubs plus carefully chosen partners gives you the reliability of an owned operation with the reach of a proper international network.

Our services to the Czech Republic

We offer a complete door-to-door service into Czechia, tailored to the size of your move:

  • Full loads and part loads. Whether you are shipping a whole family home or a single room, we match you to a dedicated load or a shared consolidated one so you only pay for the space you use.
  • Professional packing and materials. Full packing, fragile-only packing, or supplying boxes and materials for a self-pack, with export-grade wrapping for furniture and valuables.
  • Storage. Secure short-term or long-term storage at origin or destination when your dates do not line up, which is common when a Czech lease or completion runs behind your move-out date.
  • Furniture handling. Dismantling and reassembly of beds, wardrobes and flat-pack items at both ends.

We deliver right across the country, with regular demand for runs to Prague, Brno, Ostrava and Plzen. Prague draws the largest share of expat and corporate moves, while Brno has become a genuine tech and R&D hub attracting engineers and relocating teams from across Europe. Ostrava and Plzen see steady industrial, manufacturing and family relocation. Whether you are an individual expat, a family, or a business relocating staff, we scale the service to fit.

What a move to the Czech Republic costs

Every move is quoted individually, because the honest answer is that the price depends on your specific circumstances. We do not publish flat figures, because a made-up number helps nobody. The main drivers of cost are:

  • Volume. The cubic metres you ship is the single biggest factor. A studio costs a fraction of a four-bedroom house.
  • Distance and origin. Where you are moving from, and whether your lane sits on our direct road network or needs a partner leg, shapes the transport cost.
  • Access at both ends. Narrow streets, upper floors without a lift, long carry distances or the need for a parking permit in central Prague all add handling time.
  • Services chosen. Full packing, storage and reassembly add to a bare transport-only quote.
  • Timing. Peak summer and month-end slots are in higher demand than mid-week, mid-month dates.

Tell our advisor what you are moving and from where, and you will get a clear, itemised quote with no hidden extras.

Customs and paperwork

Your paperwork depends entirely on where you are moving from.

Moving from within the EU. The Czech Republic is an EU member state, so goods moving from another EU country travel under free movement of goods. There is no customs clearance and no import duty on your household effects. Practically, you simply move.

Moving from the UK or another non-EU country. Since Brexit, moves from Great Britain are treated as non-EU imports, the same as moves from the USA or any other third country. Your shipment must be cleared through Czech customs (Celní správa). The good news is that people relocating their home normally qualify for transfer-of-residence relief under EU Regulation (EC) 1186/2009, which allows used personal belongings and household goods to enter free of import duty and VAT. To qualify you generally need to have lived outside the EU for at least twelve months, the goods must have been owned and used for at least six months before the move, and they must be imported within twelve months of establishing your new residence. You will need a detailed valued inventory of everything shipped, plus proof that you are transferring your residence. Some items, such as alcohol, tobacco and goods for commercial use, are excluded from the relief. Our team prepares the customs documentation with you so nothing stalls at the border.

Residence. Residence matters are handled by the Czech Ministry of the Interior’s Department for Asylum and Migration Policy (OAMP). EU citizens have the right to live in the Czech Republic without a permit, but must report their place of residence if staying longer than 30 days, and many choose to apply for the optional EU registration certificate, which is valid for ten years and makes dealing with banks and public authorities far simpler. Non-EU nationals need the appropriate long-term visa or residence permit, and holding one is also what evidences the residence transfer for your customs relief.

Why choose Flyto

Customers choose us because we combine the accountability of an owned European operation with genuine international reach. We hold a 4.9 rating from over 500 reviews, every move is fully insured, and you deal with English-speaking advisors and coordinators from first quote to final delivery. There is no call-centre roulette and no vague partner you never hear from. One team owns your move, and we are upfront about how the network works so there are no surprises.

How long it takes

Transit time depends on your origin and whether you are on a full or shared load. Direct road moves from Central and Northern Europe into the Czech Republic typically arrive within a handful of days once collected. Shared consolidated loads take a little longer because they wait for an efficient full run, and moves from further afield or from overseas origins take longer again. Your advisor will give you a realistic collection-to-delivery window in writing before you book, and we will keep you updated as your consignment moves.

Frequently asked questions

Do you move door to door to Prague and other Czech cities?

Yes. We collect from your address and deliver to your new door anywhere in the Czech Republic, including Prague, Brno, Ostrava and Plzen, on our own road service or with a vetted partner leg where needed.

Does Flyto have an office in the Czech Republic?

No, and we will not claim otherwise. We are a European mover with our own hubs in Northern, Central and Southern Europe and vetted contracted partners for the Czech destination leg and other lanes. That honest hubs-plus-partners model is exactly why customers rely on us.

Will I pay import duty moving from an EU country?

No. As an EU member state, the Czech Republic allows household goods to move freely from other EU countries with no customs clearance and no import duty.

What about moving from the UK after Brexit?

UK moves are now non-EU imports and clear through Czech customs (Celní správa). Most home movers qualify for transfer-of-residence duty and VAT relief, provided you meet the residence and ownership conditions and supply a valued inventory. We prepare the paperwork with you.

Can you store my belongings if my dates do not match?

Yes. We offer secure short-term and long-term storage at origin or destination, which is very common when a Czech lease or property completion runs behind your move-out date.

How do I get a price?

Speak to a Flyto advisor with your origin, destination and an idea of what you are shipping, and you will receive a clear, itemised quote with no hidden extras.
