European Relocation Report 2026: what 7,396 international move quotes reveal
Headline findings
- Spain is Europe’s #1 relocation destination — the target for 16% of all moves (1,198 of 7,457), more than double the next country.
- The Netherlands → Spain is the single most-requested corridor (201 enquiries), ahead of Belgium → Spain and Germany → Spain.
- The average international move is quoted at €7,157 (median €5,583), for an average shipment of 18.6 m³ (median 12 m³).
- The “sunbelt effect” dominates: 41% of all moves head to Southern Europe (Spain, France, Italy, Portugal, Greece), overwhelmingly from Northern and Western Europe.
- Germany, the Netherlands and France are the largest origin markets for people moving abroad.

What an international move costs
Across all 7,396 priced quotes, the average international relocation was quoted at €7,157, with a median of €5,583 — the gap reflects a tail of large, long-distance and full-service moves. The typical shipment is 18.6 m³ on average (median 12 m³), roughly the contents of a one- to two-bedroom home. Price is driven mainly by distance, volume and service level (self-load vs full pack-and-move).
Methodology
Based on 7,457 international move enquiries and 7,396 associated price quotes submitted to Flyto Relocation in 2026, covering moves between European countries and worldwide. Destination and origin shares are computed from enquiries specifying both countries. Average corridor prices are shown only for corridors with at least eight quotes. Prices are Flyto quoted prices (incl. VAT where applicable) and represent Flyto’s customer base — skewed toward Northern- and Western-European departures — rather than an official market average. Test records are excluded.
