Key findings

• Spain is Europe’s most requested destination. 1,090 of the 6,796 requests (16%) were for a move to Spain, and Spain received 601 more requests as a destination than as a starting point.
• The Dutch and Belgians lead the move south. 26% of requests from the Netherlands and 25% from Belgium named Spain as the destination.
• North-western Europe has the largest net outflow. The Netherlands (-492), Belgium (-427), Germany (-387) and the UK (-260) sent far more requests than they received.
• Southern and central Europe gain. After Spain, the largest net destinations were Italy (+298), Poland (+152), Portugal (+107) and Greece (+97).
• A typical international move is about 12 m³. Half of all requests fell between 4.8 and 25 m³. Movers from the Netherlands planned the largest moves, with a median of 20 m³.

Which countries gain and lose movers

For each country, the number of requests starting there, the number ending there, and the difference. A positive number means more people asked about moving to the country than away from it.

Where each country wants to move

The most and second most requested destination for people moving from each country, as a share of all requests from that country.

Spain is the first choice from most large origin countries. The exceptions are Portugal, where France comes first, and Denmark, where Norway comes first. In Austria and Finland two destinations are level: Italy and Germany for Austria, Spain and Germany for Finland.

Planned volume of the household goods, based on 6,772 requests with a volume estimate.

What this means if you are planning a move

Popular routes have more scheduled trucks and shared loads, which usually means more date options and a lower price for smaller moves. If you are moving on one of the routes above, ask whether a shared load fits your timeline. For less common routes, book earlier and allow more flexibility in the loading date.

Methodology

• Source: international moving requests submitted to Flyto Relocation between 2026-04-23 and 2026-09-12, including requests received through partner comparison platforms.
• Cleaning: test entries, internal addresses, duplicate requests from the same person for the same route, and moves within a single country were removed. 6,796 requests remained.
• Privacy: only aggregated figures are published, and groups of fewer than 10 requests are not shown.
• Limits: the data shows planned moves, not completed moves, and reflects people who contacted Flyto, not the whole market. The period covers spring and summer, so seasonal patterns are not analysed.
