Spain Cross-Border Household Movers — Top Providers Compared 2026

Short answer – household removals to Spain compared: six kinds of company serve the route in 2026: Spanish specialists (Gil Stauffer, Grupo Amygo, Mudinmar, La Vascongada, Mudanzas Flippers), British Spain-route removers (PSS International Removals, Britannia Movers International, Simpsons International Removals, Bournes), global networks (AGS, Crown, Santa Fe, Sirva) for employer-paid moves, hub-based operators such as Flyto for fixed-price household moves from the Nordics, the Benelux, Germany and the UK, brokers such as Sirelo, Cronoshare and Habitissimo that pass the job on, and part-load van operators. What matters most is who physically delivers at your Spanish address – the comparison below shows how they differ.
What this comparison is – and is not
This is not a ranked list with stars. It compares the types of company that move households into Spain – Spanish specialists, British Spain-route removers, global relocation networks, hub-based operators, brokers and part-load carriers – on the eight things that decide whether a move to Spain goes well, and it names the companies in each group that verifiably exist and do this work in 2026. It is written by a company whose Southern European hub delivers in Spain every week, so we use ourselves as one of the examples and say where we are the wrong choice. Costs, the Spanish address problem and the step-by-step plan are on our international removals to Spain page; this page is about choosing between kinds of company.
The six kinds of mover you will meet
Spanish international specialists. Gil Stauffer, Grupo Amygo, Mudinmar (Valencia, Madrid, Barcelona, Mallorca), La Vascongada (Madrid and Barcelona, since 1921) and Mudanzas Flippers (Madrid and Barcelona) – established, several FIDI-affiliated, strong on corporate moves and overseas containers; the FEDEM federation lists its members.
British removers with weekly Spain runs. PSS International Removals, Britannia Movers International, Simpsons International Removals and Bournes run the UK–Spain corridor with part-load and dedicated services and know the Costas’ urbanisations.
Global relocation networks. AGS (Madrid and Barcelona), Crown, Santa Fe and Sirva – employer-paid relocations with destination services, immigration and a global account.
Hub-based operators. Companies such as Flyto that consolidate loads from their own regional hubs – ours are in Northern, Central and Southern Europe – and price the whole move fixed, door to door. Consolidated departures to Spain several times a month from the Nordics, the Benelux, Germany and the UK; dedicated vehicles on demand.
Brokers and comparison portals. Sirelo, Cronoshare and Habitissimo collect quotes and pass the job on; online marketplaces such as AnyVan cover the budget end. Useful for prices; ask who actually delivers.
Part-load and van operators. For a student room or a few boxes.

The questions that expose the difference
- ”Who delivers at my address in Spain?” A company name. Then: ”Have they done a gated urbanisation on the Costa del Sol / an old-town flat in Palma before?”
- ”What does the price assume about the Spanish address?” Exterior lift, shuttle vehicle, the town hall’s street-occupation permit – which takes weeks (Madrid about 20 days, Málaga a month). A quote that did not ask will be corrected on the day.
- ”Who prepares customs?” From the UK, Switzerland or Norway the Spanish Transfer of Residence declaration with the inventory and proof of residence; from the EU, none.
- ”Is the insurance on declared value, or the carrier’s legal minimum per kilogram?”
- ”What is the delivery window, and what if it is missed?” The Balearics add two to four days, the Canaries a sea leg.
Spain-specific things every company must handle
NIE and empadronamiento on arrival, the Transfer of Residence relief for non-EU origins (goods owned six months, twelve months’ residence outside the EU – second homes do not qualify), the municipal street-occupation permit, the summer heat that moves loading to the early morning, and the fact that Spanish rentals often come furnished – which changes what you bring. A video survey usually removes a quarter of the volume once people see the Spanish floor plan.
Where Flyto is – and is not – the right choice
We are the right choice for households moving to Spain from the Nordics, the Benelux, Germany, Switzerland, the UK and Ireland who want one contract, a fixed price and a company that plans the Spanish delivery address rather than discovering it on the day. Immigration, school search and other relocation extras are available through our vetted partners. We are the wrong choice only if you need a local Spanish mover for a move within the province, or a guaranteed delivery day on a consolidated budget – book a dedicated vehicle or a Spanish specialist for that, and we will say so.

Frequently asked questions
Which companies move households to Spain?
Spanish specialists such as Gil Stauffer, Grupo Amygo, Mudinmar, La Vascongada and Mudanzas Flippers; British Spain-route removers such as PSS, Britannia, Simpsons and Bournes; global networks (AGS, Crown, Santa Fe, Sirva); hub-based operators such as Flyto; and brokers that pass the job on.
What is the cheapest way to move to Spain?
A consolidated (part-load) move outside June–September with your own packing, accepting a delivery window of a few days.
Do I need a Spanish company or one from my own country?
Neither is automatically better. What matters is who physically delivers at your Spanish address and whether they have done that kind of address before – ask for the name.
Do I pay customs moving to Spain?
Not from an EU origin. From the UK, Switzerland or Norway, household goods owned six months are free of duty and VAT under Transfer of Residence relief; second homes do not qualify.
How far ahead should I book?
Four to six weeks outside the peak, eight weeks for June–September – and Spanish street permits alone take up to a month.
Does Flyto move out of Spain as well?
Yes – the same corridors run north every week, including to the UK with ToR1.
