Same structure, empty rows: fill in every item yourself.
Every international moving quote starts from one number: the volume of your belongings in cubic metres. Get it wrong and the price changes on moving day. This template is built from the furniture catalogue behind Flyto's video survey — each item carries its typical volume, so the list adds itself up.
It goes further than a plain checklist. Hidden areas (garage, basement, attic, storage units, the inside of wardrobes) are a mandatory section, because that is where almost every under-estimate comes from. Boxes are counted per room with realistic rules of thumb, special items are flagged for the crew, and the access questions at both ends are the ones a mover needs to price stairs, lifts and parking.
Use the Excel version if you want totals calculated automatically; Word if you prefer to type; PDF to print and walk through the home with a pen. When you are done, send the list to your Flyto advisor or paste it into your Flyto video survey.

How to use it
- Walk through every room with the list and tick what is coming. Open wardrobes and cupboards — their contents become boxes.
- Count boxes per room (8–12 per bedroom is normal), then fill the special items and access sections.
- Check the total against the typical sizes. Send the list to Flyto or book a free 15-minute video survey to confirm it.

FAQ
How do I estimate the volume of my move?
Count the items room by room and multiply by their typical volume — a 3-seat sofa is about 2.5 m³, a double bed 2 m³, a wardrobe 1.2 m³ per metre, a medium moving box 0.06 m³. The template does this for you. A one-bedroom flat is typically 12–18 m³, a two-bedroom 18–28 m³, a house 40–70 m³.
How many moving boxes do I need?
Plan 8–12 medium boxes per bedroom, 15–25 for a kitchen and 5–10 for a living room, plus wardrobe boxes for hanging clothes. One shelf metre of books is about one box. Most people under-count boxes by 30–50 % — count the cupboards, not the rooms.
Is the template free and can I share it?
Yes. The template and the volume table are free to download, print and share. Volumes are typical values from Flyto's open furniture catalogue; actual volumes vary with size and packing.
Do I still need a survey?
A completed list gets you an accurate quote quickly. For a final, fixed price we recommend a free 15-minute video survey — your advisor checks the list with you and confirms access and special items. No home visit needed.
