1. Leaving Saudi Arabia: what to close out

Everything about leaving Saudi Arabia hangs off your iqama (residence permit). The final document is the final exit visa (khuruj nihai), which ends your residency and lets you and your dependants depart permanently. Once you leave on it, your iqama is cancelled and re-entry rights under that sponsorship are gone, so time it against your shipment and flights rather than requesting it too soon.

Workers whose contracts have ended or expired can frequently request the final exit visa themselves through Absher or Qiwa, without fresh employer approval. The Jawazat (passport authority) will not issue it if your iqama has fewer than 30 days of validity remaining, and the visa is valid only for a limited window, so sequence it last. Settle your end-of-service benefit (EOSB) before departure.
