Do I need to worry about Sri Lankan customs and quarantine?
Imports are policed by Sri Lanka Customs alongside the National Plant Quarantine Service (Department of Agriculture), which under the Plant Protection Act No. 35 of 1999 requires prior permits for plants, seeds and plant products and screens for pests in food, wooden items and untreated wood packaging, with alcohol and tobacco strictly dutiable. We prepare a correct, itemised inventory and declaration so your shipment clears customs without delays.
What customs paperwork do I need for a move to or from Sri Lanka?
Typically the no single transfer-of-residence form — unaccompanied personal effects are cleared by lodging an Import Customs Declaration (CusDec) with Sri Lanka Customs through the ASYCUDA World system via a licensed Customs House Agent; duty-free relief for returning passport holders, dual citizens and residence-visa holders is claimed against that CusDec, for bona fide personal quantities landed within 30 days before or 90 days after arrival together with your passport, visa and a full inventory. We prepare and lodge the documentation for you, so nothing slows your shipment down.
